Blue skies are greeting us on this first day of March -- I know it's not technically spring - but occasionally we get a whiff of the salty air and know that it's just around the corner. That said, tomorrow is an official knitting day -- rainy, cold, windy, sleet? Why would you do anything else! Have a last cup of winter cocoa and make a few hats.
All in stock SUPERBULKY yarn is on sale this month -- buy 3 get a 4th skein free. When it's gone, it's gone until September.
Speaking of hats! It's been a hat filled 2 months. In case you missed it -- The Olympics are over and we had fun playing in the shop! The record for a super bulky snowboard / ski hat is -- 89 MINUTES!!
Elaine - our own "Mad Hatter" continues on her quest to knit the cutest baby hats ever! Each one is better than the last - As we mentioned - this one is TuTu adorable!
The January Colorwork Class was full within 24 hours and we had great success - I don't know the final count but we have at least 10 new stranded hats walking around Marblehead, Salem, and New York - I must say an award should go to Tapley for driving the farthest for a knitting class.
Classes - As we head into spring the beginner classes will continue on Wednesday nights with Sawyer - 6-7:30 please call or email to sign up - limit 4 per class $25
Kayleen will be available on Saturdays 11-12:30 for crochet help - drop in fee of $10 - Please call ahead to make sure she will be there - with 2 cute little children there is an occasional snuffy nose that keeps her home.
What's Everyone working on? Lots of fingerless gloves as we try to decide between - 4 needles, magic loop, and the New Addi Flexi Flips. (more stock on it's way - the original shipment flew out the door in a heartbeat!)
We still have some Arisha Ponchos on the needles in beautiful Berocco Catena and a few sweaters - I am amazed at the tenacity of this group in finishing things - so many sweaters done, blocked, and gifted! They are all so beautiful!
A sampling of New Yarns for us - This is just the tip of the iceberg - come in to see more.
Luma from the Fibre Company is a beautiful blend of Wool, cotton, linen, and silk. DK weight I'm working on the Stonepoint Poncho - this would also be beautiful for the Churchmouse Essential Cardigan or anything else wanting a traditional look DK yarn with a beautiful hand
Ella Rae Lace Merino - We have lots of fingering weight in stock and DK weight on it's way. This a beautiful wool, dyed with highly saturated color
Katia yarn - we all loved the Cotton Merino, the Alpaca Silver, and the Silky Tweed over the last few months for hats - now we have the Silky Lace - a sport weight Wool / Silk Combo -- perfect for spring shawls and ponchos.
Keep up with our daily antics on Facebook. Or even better stop by and check out the happy chaos.
