Happy New Year! I'm writing this from a cozy spot at Sunday River -- too cold to ski! The new website is up and of course still in progress -
It's January - sometimes dark and gray-- but not at Marblehead Knits! We are all about color this month. Anything from a Self Striping Yarn (as Teresa says "Best invention since the internet") to Islandic Patterns, to Slip stitch color work.
This is my advanced color work pattern of choice for the month. Knit in Luma Yarn from the Fibre Company -7 Colors - wish me luck!
Our Own Michael Austin - ribbon winner at both the Kentucky State Fair and the Topsfield Fair has a color work class on Jan 10th which is full, but we are taking names for a waiting list and for the next class.
Speaking of Colorwork -- you probably saw the post on Facebook but Sheila finished her Scotty Dog Sweater -- Blood, sweat, and tears went into this one. I actually think she also wins an award for most broken needles in one projects as well......
This Tuesday is Sawyer's last Tuesday night beginner/advanced beginner class - Grad school is calling but she will most likely be moving her class to Wednesday evenings starting Jan 24th - 6-7:30 $25 / class limited to 4 students - call for a spot -- 781-990-1722 or email - email@example.com - online sign ups are coming.
Evening Knitting with Elaine - Thursday, January 11th 4-7pm
Please let us know if you are coming so we can round up enough chairs! There is a $10 suggested donation - we provide some snacks but feel free to bring something to share.
It's Hip to be Square! Remember all those squares we knit over the summer - time to get them all connected and off to the USO lounge -- On Thursday evening Jan 25th from 5:30-7 we will be sewing the squares - Refreshments will be provided as will needles and yarn - no need to bring anything but yourself!
See you soon! Happy Knitting!
